Cognitive science-focused research mentorship for psychology & cognitive science students
Interested in the Cognitive Science Research Assistance Program?
Fill this form attached below, it helps me understand your academic context, research interests, and available resources. It’s not a commitment - just a way to see whether this program is the right fit for you. I'll respond to you if my skills resonate with your idea. Let's build something great together. Let's grow together!
Why am I doing this?
When I started working as an undergraduate researcher in DEI in 2020, all my time and effort went into keeping my learning consistent. Consistency is the key to gaining skills that last long. It's equally tough and necessary. But I had my mentor by my side. He gave me the world's best EEG equipment and said - Go play with them, you can't ruin them enough for me not to repair them. It was the perfect age, the perfect time to learn, and he trusted me, a noob, to do it. That's when I decided I would return to the community of early learners in some way or another. This is the start of that.
Events Schedule
Please know that there is no formal structure to it yet. I like to know people and their interests and help them with their ventures. I have been doing this for some years now, formally or informally.
You could get live updates of all the CS-RAP group meetups for EEG learning sessions for this month below:
What's going on now?
It's been more than a month since I started this program. I received 20 responses from people interest in working on real projects, 9 of them joined the EEG learning together series, some of them are very regular and I can see a few long-term projects coming out of these people's enthusiasm and hard work.
We have been meeting regularly to learn EEG together as a group. Till now we have covered basic physics and physiology of EEG, it helps a lot while analyzing and inferring signals. We are using EEGLab to analyze different open-source datasets based on our interests, which all of our talented participants wish to convert into projects. I have so much fun talking to all of these people about my favourite thing. It's just like how a new parent shows off their kid's picture to everyone they meet, I like to show off my EEG data to everyone around me. So if you ever meet me, and want a nice conversation topic, you know what to talk about now :)
